ISSER to launch new multi-million-dollar research initiative on digital finance

ISSER will on Tuesday, June 7, 2022 launch the Retail Financial Distribution Research (ReFinD) research initiative, a new multi-million dollar project focused on deepening digital financial inclusion and improving women’s access to financial services in low and middle-income countries.

The event will be held at the ISSER Conference Facility and feature the Governor of the Bank of Ghana, Dr Ernest Kwamina Addison as guest of honour, and stakeholders from the digital finance sector.

Besides introducing the project, the event will serve to issue the first requests for proposals for pilot studies and experimental research, among other objectives.

Funded by the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, the ReFinD research initiative aims to deepen digital financial inclusion among the vulnerable and excluded -- women, poor households, SMEs, and other retail businesses -- by funding research projects through multiple calls for pilot studies and experimental research.
