This research project aims to examine the potential impacts of Closed-Circuit Television (CCTV) systems installations on mobile money agency businesses, particularly in areas with limited access to financial services. The study seeks to address the existing gap in the literature by assessing the feasibility of implementing CCTV systems and gathering preliminary evidence on their effectiveness in enhancing firm productivity and reducing security-related incidents. The research focuses on mobile money agents in underserved communities and aims to create a safer environment that promotes inclusive participation and the expansion of mobile money services especially women. The pilot study will serve as a crucial step in preparing for a full-scale Randomised Controlled Trial (RCT), allowing for the refinement of study protocols and the estimation of effect sizes. The findings will have important implications for policymakers and stakeholders interested in enhancing security and improving financial services delivery.
